When one is reflecting on their experience and sharing it with others, it is important to capture vital details of the affair. Not only are you helping others live the experience through your words but you want to ensure that respected parties receive their credit as well. Thus, much time and thought was taken while writing about the 2nd annual RAINN Fashion on Common Ground event. Enjoy your read!
Ms. Michigan US Universal 2017, Sherlyn Fox is one of class, poise and structure. There's no surprise she has won many crowns as well as the respect of the Detroit Fashion community. We had the honor of working along side her as co-producer for the show. Her personality, demeanor and essence shows itself through her work because she sincerely puts her entirety into every project she commits too. Anyone that attended the first show in 2016 were definitely reassured this year and if it was your first time, we'll see you again next year.
The saying goes, "you can't please everyone." I think we hit the nail on this one. If you were attending the show for a particular reason, you got exactly what you came for. If you wanted to see fashion, the designer line up blew your mind with their unique pieces.
Michigan Designers include:
C. Creations Detroit Tee Game Time Glitz Happy Hookers Detroit

If you came to network, there were definitely plenty of models, photographers, stylists, artisans, bloggers, magazines, socialites and Fashion House of F.A.B under 1 roof. We ran into familiar acquaintances and met new people. Among them were the following:

If you came for entertainment, Rat & Puff from 98.7 AMP Radio made your ticket worth your while. Co-host and media personality, Jason Colthorp from WDIV Local 4 was more vibrant than ever. If you've seen him on TV he was 10x better in person. To emphasize the excitement, they encouraged the audience to do the mannequin challenge! An unforgettable scene. What's an event without music? DJ Detroit Bangerz: Fadi Akkam was amazing and kept the crowd alive.
Most importantly, everyone attended to support several charities with a great cause. RAINN (Rape, Abuse & Incest National Network), HAVEN and Common Ground. Multiple businesses supported this event as a sponsor and/or donated items/services to the silent auction. The collaborative effort of so many companies and individuals definitely shows that we as a community can come together for the common good. Here's to name a few:
Salon Orchad C O R E Partners OMG Realty Downriver Gymnastics
ART VAN LT Studio CBS Radio Tito's Handmade Vodka
Shazaam PR Gorgeous Gal Loyalty Vacations Savvy Hospitalty Solutions
Salon Rush Rattle Snake Club Stroth's SDCI Systems Duplicating
Thanks for making it to the end of this blog. I'm sure you have other things to do, so to wrap it up, I would like to mention other aspects of the show we personally enjoyed: the live mannequins, 50/50 raffle, red carpet, walk of queens sponsored by DAWOOD boutique, and the finale walk that included a red heart decorated by each participant in the show. Let's not forget the after party at Hamlin Corner in downtown Royal Oak! Overall we look forward to seeing you next year because third time is a charm.
